She was born in Texas and lived in Bienville Parish prior to her moving to Lake Charles. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lake Charles for over 60 years. She owned and operated Jennings Hardware in Lake Charles.
She is survived by her two grandsons, John Salmons and wife, Beth of Orange, TX and Tommy Salmons of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Jennings; daughter, Rose Elizabeth Salmons; grandson, David Jennings Salmons.
Her funeral will be 11am Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Dr. John White will officiate. Visitation will begin Saturday 9am until service time. A private burial will be at a later date. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
