Hilary James Venable

On Feb. 15, 2016, God loaned us a very special gift. For 110 days, our arms and lives were filled with our son, Hilary James. He was one of God’s greatest creations and we treasured every second he was with us. Not a day passed that we didn’t thank God for our Lil’ Hil. From the very beginning of his life he excelled, talking and cooing almost immediately. Destined to become a Navy Seal, he loved the water and was already crawling. He would get so excited as he watched ‘Top Gear’ with his daddy in the man chair. Hil was constantly singing and chatting with his mom. He enjoyed his big sister’s attention. He made us a better, stronger family.

It is with broken hearts that we announce that our sweet baby boy has been called home by our Heavenly Father. We do not understand why he was only with us for such a short time, but we are so, very grateful that God chose to bless our family with Hilary James. We were honored and proud to call him ‘son.’

Hilary is survived by his loving parents, Steven and Shantel Venable; big sisters, Madison Venable and Ella Smith; doting grandparents, Tim and Bernie Smith, Jamie Beauclair, and Debbie Smith; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilary (Emiline) Beauclair, Mr. and Mrs. James (Carolyn) Graham; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Friday at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and will resume at 9am on Saturday at the church. Funeral Services will be at 10am on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at First United Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles. Burial will be at St. Joseph Chapel Cemetery in Soileau, LA.
