

He was born on November 20, 1959 to parents Ulrich “B.B.” and Edna Gary Doxey. He was a community organizer of the Tenants Association at Chateau-du Lac; the co-editor of the High Risers Gazette; and the concession generated funds for parties and gifts to fellow seniors and/or disabled residents. Many people would go to him for advice or interpretation. He enjoyed making flower arrangements, crocheting, along with arts and crafts. James was known to tell a joke and could make you believe them. He enjoyed helping others and loved everyone he came in contact with.
He is survived by his caregiver, Minnie Goings of Lake Charles; four brothers, Clyde Doxey, Sr. and wife Leola, Hubern Doxey, Sr., Steven Doxey, Sr. and fiancée Rebecca Bailey, Robert “Sea Bob” Doxey, Sr. and fiancée Pat Saltzman, all of Cameron; a number of nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a great great niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Clyde “Tootie” Doxey, Jr.; along with his dog, Bonnie Jean.
