A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Jonathan graduated from Alfred M. Barbe High School in 2010, where he proudly played football. He later attended IBEW, where he met the love of his life, Alexis. Jonathan became a certified electrician and went on to co-own Metro PCS with Alexis, supporting her as she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Always dedicated to providing for his family, he worked various jobs before founding his own roofing company, Hy Tech Roofing, which he successfully operated for the past six years, leaving behind a lasting legacy for those he loved most.
Jonathan was a devoted husband and father who always made time for his family despite the long hours required to run a business. He could often be found at ballparks across the country, cheering on his son, Eli, with unwavering pride. When he wasn’t traveling for baseball, he spent treasured moments with his daughter, Adalynn, delighting in every opportunity to be a loving “girl dad.” A strong Christian and a man of steadfast character, Jonathan was someone many turned to for guidance, always offering wisdom rooted in faith. He loved the Lord Jesus and was a faithful attendee of Christian World Church.
Traveling brought Jonathan great joy, and he embraced every chance to explore new places. Baseball trips alone took him to 15 states, and he visited Disney World four times, always eager to create magical memories with his family. He was already planning more adventures for the future.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 10 years, Alexis Deville; his children, Eli and Adalynn Deville; his mother and stepfather, Lessie Deville and Michael Joubert; his sister, Whitney Joubert; his brothers, Marlon Mayo and Jamal Mayo; his godparents, Frankie and Ida Aught; his nephew, Gabriel Barker; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Thibodeaux; his sisters-in-law, Nichole Gee and Jasmine Carter; his brother-in-law, Hernando Gee; and a host of other beloved family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Mayo; and his maternal grandparents, Ramsey and Emma Deville.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. led by Bishop Randy Clark. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Pastors Jerry and Hope Snider. Committal services will immediately follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
