Kathy “Kacky” Guidry Knighten, 68, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 28, 2024. She was born June 22, 1956, and raised in Beaumont, Texas, where she developed her warm and caring nature that touched the hearts of so many.
Kacky was known for her boundless energy, sense of humor, and her gift for making people laugh and smile. She never met a stranger, always welcoming new people into her life with open arms and an open heart. Her positive outlook on life and her ability to see the good in everyone were truly special.
Kacky’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Kacky." Whether fishing, telling stories, or sharing a meal, she always made family time memorable.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Thelma Branning Guidry, and her brothers, Kevin, Quinton, and Mike Guidry.
Kacky is survived by her devoted husband, Terry Knighten; her daughters, Christi Touchet (Travis), Amber Riggs (Josh), Stephanie Tanner (Justin), and Rhonda Knighten (Nicholas); and her grandchildren, Kaylie Touchet, Jake Touchet, Nicholas Touchet, Joshua Riggs, Morgan Riggs, Grace Riggs, Vivianne Tanner, and Jameson Tanner. She also leaves behind her siblings, Dennis Guidry and Linda Walters, as well as countless friends and extended family members.
Kacky’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and laughter. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into the world and the love she shared with everyone she met.
Memorial services for Kathy will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Chapel of Lilies at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles with Rev. Justin Tanner officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
