Lida Theriot Miller

She was born in Creole, LA and lived in Grand Chenier prior to moving to Sweetlake. She was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. She worked for the Cameron Parish School Board as a food worker. She was a long serving member of the Grand Chenier Home Demonstration Club. She was an active participant in the Senior Olympics and the Cameron Council on Aging for 30 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her daughter, Hilda Crain of Sweetlake, Lucille Hebert of Sweetlake, Carolyn Thibodeaux and companion, Wendell C. Murphy of Lake Charles, Mary Kathleen Roberts and husband, Joseph C. Roberts Jr. of Kaplan; sisters, Rena Baccagalopi of Creole, Ina Theriot of Sweetlake; grandchildren, Albert J. Crain, Rachel Corley, Ladd Hebert, Tina Payne, Randall Hebert, Norman Hebert, Travis Johnson, Heather Dawn Gauthreaux, Scarlett Katie Bagwell, Shelby Jo Roberts; great grandchildren, Kale C. Crain, Justin Payne, Blake Payne, Dustin Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Lexie Lea Trosclair, Hunter Hebert, Kathlyn Hebert, Garrison Gauthreaux, Jackson Gauthreaux, Brody Bagwell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Sevan Miller; parents, Adolph and Amanda Boudreaux Theriot; son, Sidney Miller; brother, Joseph Theriot and sisters, Lovenia Miller and Nola Richard.

Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Grand Chenier. Rev. Richard Uche Adiukwu will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in her service will be Albert J. Crain, Ladd Hebert, Randall Hebert, Norman Hebert, Travis Johnson, and Justin Payne. Honorary pallbearers will be Kale Crain, Blake Payne, Dustin Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Hunter Hebert. Burial will be in St. Eugene Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles 2-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 8-9 a.m. Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church at 5035 Grand Chenier Hwy, Grand Chenier, LA 70643.
