Lourdes Bueno Broussard

She was a native of Havana, Cuba... Lourdes moved to Lake Charles when she was 17, where she graduated from St. Louis High School. She received a degree in Spanish at McNeese State University. She worked as the Director of H&R Block Premium for 35 years. Lourdes attended St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Lourdes, you knew that the devotion she had for her family, her friends, and her religion was not easily matched. Lourdes’ focus in life was always on the people that she loved.

Her greatest passion was her family; daughter, Cristina Nicole Broussard, son-in-law to be Benjamin David Snead, and beloved granddaughter Sofia Brian Broussard, son, Eric Paul Broussard-Bueno and daughter-in-law to be Shannon Marie Lynberg.

Her memory will endure not only through her family, but also through the many people- whose lives she touched with her warm compassion, humor, infectious spirit, fiery strength, and devotion.

Lourdes was preceded in death by the love of her life of 35 years, Stephen Brian Broussard and her parents Bertha and Pedro Bueno.

Lourdes’ funeral will be at 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. A gathering of friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. following the funeral at her home. Her body was cremated.
