

Luther was born in Iota, LA and was a Lake Charles resident. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where he was an usher. Luther was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1, the VFW Post 2130 and the Knights of Columbus. Luther was a Boy Scout Leader for his sons for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Lantz of Lake Charles; sons, Dennis Lantz and Brian Lantz both of Austin, TX and Chris Lantz and wife, Sheila of Dallas, TX; brothers, Ervin Lantz of Sulphur and Lee Allen Lantz of Mississippi; sisters, Betty Robbins of Michigan and Gertie Manuel of Basile, LA; half-sister, Helen Martin of Georgia; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Lantz; and his parents, Leonard and Mary Lantz.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 5p.m. to 9p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles with a rosary at 6:30p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at the funeral home from 8:30a.m. until the time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10a.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Lake Charles. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. A special thank you to the staff at Heart of Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Mr. Lantz.
