Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Her greatest joy was visiting with and cooking for her family. Once she had raised her family, she began her career at Dress Barn and found a love of customer service and made many new friends. After retirement she began crocheting caps for Calcasieu Parish School children in coordination with DeWanna’s Closet and found a true passion.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Arnold; children, Arnold Wayne (Carlene), Mike (Jodi), and Kelly; grandchildren, Collin, Alex, Jeannette, McMichael Fontenot, Cheyenne and Dakota Dimmitt, and Adrianne Turner; and 6 great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters, Betty Maas, Clifford “Sonny” (Dewette) Lannin, Martha(Buzz) Sarver, Carol (Bob) Fox, Mark (Drue) Lannin; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation held at Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
