

Oren Joseph Boudreaux, 83, passed away in Grand Lake on Aug. 20, 2013. Oren was born and raised in Creole and lived the last 17 years in Lacassine. He served until retirement as a Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Deputy. He owned and operated Boudreaux Cattle Co. He was an avid Catholic in which he recently made his Cursillo. Oren was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Woodmen of the World, LA Cattlemen's Association, LA Quarter-Horse Assoc., where he won many awards, and he volunteered at Jennings VA Hospital. Oren had a passion for horses and working cows, the outdoors, cajun dancing and music and spending quality time with family. He will be deeply missed.
Oren is survived by his children, Sheila Trahan and husband Billy Ray of Lake Charles; Jeffery Boudreaux and wife Brenda of Holmwood; James Boudreaux and wife Toni of Grand Lake, all children of Ina Boudreaux; stepson, Robert Dale Richard and wife Francis of Sulphur; wife, Cynthia Boudreaux; siblings Francis Richard, Annette Baccigalopi, Ernie Boudreaux, Christine Bertrand; grandchildren, Billie Jo Richard, Nikki Wainwright, Tredale Boudreaux, Nichalos Boudreaux, Carrie Navarre, Melissa Groves, Marcus Boudreaux, John Richard, Tanya Richard, and Kelly Bertrand; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Oren is preceded in death by parents, Bessie and Ferdinand Boudreaux; sister, Faye Bertrand; brother, who died at birth, John Robert Boudreaux.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary at 7:00 p.m. and resume Friday from 8:00 a.m. until service at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August, 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Tim Goodly and Rev. Wayne LeBleu will officiate.
