Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted and Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes.”
Pamela was born to the late Morris Edwards, Jr. and the late Helen Fobbs Edwards. Pam was married to James Lewis in 1993. After her marriage, she nurtured her great nieces and nephew: Danaya, Ayana, Mashayla and Damarion Lewis. She made sure they knew the Lord and took them to church every time the church doors were open.
She gave her life to the Lord in 1993 and served as Choir President at St. John’s Holiness Youth Choir. She served as Chairman of the Chaplain Liaison Advisory Council Calcasieu Prison Ministry from 2003-2016. Pam loved serving others. She was a caretaker of her mom and two brothers in Lake Charles. She worked at Home Health 2000 for many years.
Pam loved her family and enjoyed laughing and joking around. Now, if you mess with her family…it was on and popping. Pam’s sense of humor will never be forgotten. We celebrate Pam’s life with love and gratitude for her work here on earth.
She is preceded in death by her siblings: David Fobbs, Ava Napoleon and Patrick Edwards.
She leaves to mourn her husband of 32 years, James E. Lewis.
Those left to cherish her memories are 7 siblings: Michael Richard of Houston, Texas, Cindy Hudson (Brian) of Iowa, Louisiana, Leslie Allen Jacobs of Houston, Texas, Mark Simien (Serita) of Houston, Texas, Sanderson Simien of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Helen Roberson and Ellen Hightower of San Antonio, Texas, as well as her in-laws Tina Lewis of Houston, Texas , Audrey Lewis and Jackie Achane (Kevin) of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Kenny Lewis, Willie Pittman of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Joyce Spires ) Darryl Spires (Angelique), Sharon Davis (James) of Detroit, Michigan, Anthony Spires (Elizabeth) of Bentonia, Mississippi and Aunt Jerry Hailes of Maryland, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Romans 8:38-39
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The family will welcome the public for visitation January 24, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend our appreciation for all of the expressions of love and kindness, prayers and involvement to everyone who loved Pam.
To those I love
When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not here to see. If the sun shall rise and find your eyes, filled with tears for me. I wish you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me as much as I love you. And each time you think of me. I know you'll miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart. For every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.
