Love is more than saying it but meaning it. I’ve been in this hall since I was a baby. Overtime my love for paw paw has grown like he is and was my own. His greatest example was staying faithful to Jehovah no matter what. In the time of his last days I sat at his side and before he was unable to speak, he would always say stay with Jehovah and you take care of yourself like I was in the hospital/hospice home.  No matter what he made sure maw maw was taking care of and he was always there for her. Paw paw showed me what true love really means and most importantly to always put Jehovah first. I will never forget the times I would bring maw maw and paw paw Wendy’s, he loved a good hamburger. I had the privilege of eating with the elderly in my hall growing up and always going out on Sunday’s in the evening and then right after we’d eat at Wendy’s. Then when maw maw and paw paw couldn’t make it to the meetings I would always make time to go to visit. We would stay for hours laughing and thinking of the past, the present, and what the future will be like in paradise. These two people will and always be my family.  Paw paw I’ll see you in paradise. His favorite scripture was Rev 21:3,4, he will be Jehovah’s memory and we will see him again. I love you always. 

Sara, Paul, Sis Helen, and all Bro Pike's family:  I never got to know him really well but his presence at assemblies, conventions, and pre-cleaning sites was very encouraging.  What a warm smile! So many memories, but these are some of my favorites! 

We both disliked shopping; so when my sister, Sara and I would go spend weeks with them in Woodville over the summer, we held the bench down while snacking while Sara and MawMaw would shop. We would just talk and laugh and even napped on that bench.  Another was going explore in the woods around the house and making new trails, grabbing lizards and scaring off the cats (boy he hated those cats...haha)!  All the family BBQ events we had, those were the good ole times!  Going to Sam Houston Park and feeding the ducks. He taught me the proper way of making a bed, the USAF way, that I will pass on to my boys! 🇺🇸❤️  The last family trip we took was to Jacksonville, FL to visit my sister while she lived there, boy did he love it. He talked of his time he was in the Air Force as we passed certain places and the look on his faces when we made it to the beach was priceless.   He loved life. He loved adventures. He had so many interesting stories from his childhood, Air Force and retirement days that I will hold dear to my heart! This is the Ralph I will remember. I Love You! I will miss your physical presence, but I am at peace knowing you are still with us!

I will always cherish the fine example of endurance and unending love Ralph had for Jehovah. Of my earliest memories, it was always so nice to see him and ‘his precious wife’ come into the Kingdom Hall with smiles and warm hugs. I will always cherish the times we spent together.. Ralph and Helen are like second family to us. We rest assured that he is in Jehovah’s memory and await the time we see him again in Jehovah’s righteous new world. We are praying for the family and send our deepest love. 

Something that Paul and I would like to add to his obituary (and some of this will be in the program, as well) is that after being around Jehovah's Witnesses for about 20 years, Dad studied the Bible in Woodville, TX and became one of Jehovah's Witnesses himself, loyally and faithfully serving his God, Jehovah for 26 years until his death. Right up until his final meal in hospice,  he would pray clearly to his Father, Jehovah. His prayers reflecting his great love for his wife and family, praying for Jehovah to protect them and comfort them. Even though he was shy about reading,  he and Mom regularly started each day with a reading of the Daily Bible Texts and faithfully prepared for meetings together.   In his 60's he had the wonderful privilege of working on the Rosenberg Assembly Hall as a mechanic, keeping the machinery in good working order.  He also had a hand in helping with the relief work after Hurricane Rita. He even housed total strangers in his home, completely trusting them because their common bond was their love for Jehovah.   He enjoyed going to the nursing homes for Bible studies when he could, and participated in early morning field service for years before his age finally got the better of him.  He would often talk about Jehovah with complete strangers in the doctor's waiting room.  He was also faithful even to the end because even though he was facing a serious medical issue, and some pressure from the medical staff,  he upheld Jehovah's commandment about abstaining from blood.  (Acts 15:28, 29)  Dad always had a kind word and was, in his last days, very vocal about how much he loved all of us, "not because of what you do!" as he'd say, but just because.  Dad has become a wonderful example to all of his family, and we look forward to seeing him when he is resurrected into God's New World as a young man once again! (Revelation 21:3,4)Below is a picture of them reading the text together on the back porch early in the morning

My favorite amoung many was waking up at 4am to go get dounuts. Paw paw was pretty cool.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ray and Beulah Pike, son-in-law, Chad Horton, and son-in-law, Eddie V. Tack.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his wife of 67 years, Helen T. Matte Pike of Iowa; three sons, Michael Pike and wife, Tana of Iowa, Jeffrey Pike and wife, Gail of Lake Charles, and Paul Pike and wife, Sarah of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mary Pike Tack of Houston, TX, and Barbara Pike Horton of Conroe, TX; sister, Dorothy Jones of Florida; six grandchildren, Sara Pike, Sabrina Pike Stoute, Kimberly Horton Crain, Clint Martin, Allison Pike Meaux, and Cody Pike; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Taylor, Julissa Pike, Isabel Pike, Jacian Pichon, Xavier Ware, Abel Stoute, and Nathaniel Cortez; and a host of nieces and nephews.
