Sarah "Niki" Elaine Johns

Sarah Elaine "Niki" Johns, age 63, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 surrounded by her family. Niki was born on Monday, September 28, 1959 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Niki worked as a D.J. at many different radio stations in our area spanning 3 decades. She was known mostly for her work in country music, but her true passion was always rock n roll.

Niki was preceded in death by her father, Bubby Going.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Elaine Ford of DeRidder, LA; her son, Daniel "Rocky" Johns and Natasha Berry of Sulphur, LA; Rocky's dad, Melvin Ray Johns of Jonesboro, AR; grandson, Daniel Paul Johns, Jr., step-grandchildren, Trinity, Espyn, Madden, and Easton Trahan all of Sulphur, LA; and a brother, N.A. "Hoppy" Going and wife, Bobbie of DeRidder, LA.

Visitation will begin 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at J.E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home, and will resume from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home, in the Chapel of Lilies, with Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles.

Niki's family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Broussard, Dr. Lacey, the Staff at Lake Charles Memorial Group, and the Staff of Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
