Verna Mae (Atkinson) Sarver

After a beautiful, long-lived life, and for the child of God, death is merely the passageway to the splendors of heaven. Forever in our hearts, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.

The best monument we can raise to her memory is to follow her as she followed Christ and extend her influence to many other lives and to the generations to come.

She will be sadly missed by ALL.

She was predeceased in death by her husband, J.C. Sarver, Jr., and her parents, Vernon and Maude Atkinson.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Wayne Sarver (Debbie), Gordon Glynn Sarver (Delane), and Kevin Dale Sarver (Stephanie); her sister, Elaine Atkinson Smith; her brother, Gordon Atkinson; and her grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Josh Sarver, Christopher Sarver, Jennifer Landry, J. Douglas Detiveaux, Lauren Coleman, Devon Sarver, Paige Whitaker, Hadyn Sarver, and Judah Sarver, along with many great-grandchildren.

The family welcomes the public for visitation at J. E. Hixson & Sons Funeral Home 3001 Ryan St Lake Charles, LA 70601 on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2 PM until the time of service at 4 PM. Verna's final resting place will be at Highland Memory Gardens, interment will be private.
