During his service he traveled from New Jersey to Bombay, India, and everywhere in between. In January of 2016, John Bridges featured him as one of KPLC’s “Hometown Hero’s”. Upon returning home from the war, he went on to work for Cities Service Refineries for over 30 years until retirement .Wilfred then ran his own shrimp boat, Miss Macky. Many days were spent enjoying the water and sunshine on the boat. He had a deep love and appreciation for Cajun French music and played it as loud and as often as he could, and in his younger days was a great competitive dancer. He was fluent in Cajun French and could spend hours speaking it with others who knew it too.
