

William Adolph Wadsack, 98, died on October 17, 2016 in Lakeway, Texas. He was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1940 and received a Commission in the US Army as well as a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity; and Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi, scientific honorary societies. He served five years on active duty during World War II and then worked for Cities Service for 37 years. He retired as Supervisor of Environmental Affairs from Occidental Petroleum (formerly Citgo) in 1982. He was also a Lt. Colonel, US Air Force Retired.
He was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles, LA, Past President of the Louisiana Unit of WBCCI (an Airstream RV Caravanning Club), Past President of JC Little League baseball, and a Life Master in Duplicate Bridge.
He was an excellent dancer and he loved to travel. In the 1970’s, Bill and his wife purchased an Airstream Trailer which they used to travel all over the country. They visited every state of the union as well as Mexico, Canada, Holland, Germany, France, Sweden, Russia, Austria, Greece, New Zealand, and the Fiji Islands.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Mary B. Wadsack; his parents, Charles F. and Viola D. Wadsack; and his siblings, Charles E. Wadsack, and Ruth E. Wadsack. Survivors include son William B. Wadsack and wife Marilyn J. Wadsack, son John F. Wadsack and wife Debbie S. Wadsack, all of Lake Charles, and daughter Patricia L. Wadsack of Austin, TX; grandchildren Jacob C. Wadsack and wife Julie C. Wadsack of St. Gabriel, LA, William C. Wadsack and wife Jennifer Jarnagin of Dallas, TX, Daniel K. Wadsack of Lake Charles, Maggie Salmon and Katie Salmon of Austin, TX, Eric Salmon of Thibodaux, LA, and Jennifer Midgett of DeRidder, LA; great grandchildren Luke Wadsack, Nick Wadsack, Isabel Wadsack and Nathaniel Wadsack Jarnagin.
Visitation will be at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 411 Ranch Road 620 South in Lakeway, Texas from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Funeral services will be at the Presbyterian Church of Lake Travis at 14820 Hamilton Pool Road, Austin, TX on Thursday, October 20th at 2:00 PM. Services in Lake Charles, LA will be at Hixon’s Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan Street. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM and funeral service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22nd. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Lake Charles, LA.
