Arthur W Ruder

Arthur W. Ruder, age 88, of Clarksville passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at his daughters home in Annapolis, MD. Arthur was born on February 4, 1927 in Benton Harbor, MI to Oscar and Leora (Bell) Ruder. He pastored for 22 years at Gateway Community Church in Clarksville along with being a 3rd and 5th grade teacher at East Elementary in Lake Odessa and Clarksville Elementary. On July 23, 1948 he married Gertrude Ann Bailey and she preceded him in death on May 2, 2014. He is survived by , seven children, Nancy Joy of Marshall, NC, Ann Marie (Phil) Roth of Freeport, MI, Rebecca Ruth (Chris) DeBlaey of Wyoming, MI, Rachel Elizabeth (Tim) Cash of Annapolis, MD, Joe (Cindy) Ruder of Oakley, MI, Priscilla Grace (Ken) Bomgardner of Lebanon, PA, Naomi Margaret (David) Wenger of Three Rivers, MI, siblings Richard (Jan) Ruder of Wilcox, AZ and Donald (Joan) Ruder of Hastings, MI, in laws Jim Bailey, Grace Chamberlain, Margaret Smith, Harold Bailey, Nancy Bailey, Dorothy Pugh, along with 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceding Arthur in death are: his parents, wife Gertrude and brother John Ruder. A memorial service is being held at the Gateway Church in Clarksville at 11am on July 25, 2015 with family receiving friends and family from 9am until time of service. Interment will take place immediately following the service at the Clarksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to Houghton College, One Willard Avenue, Houghton, NY 14744. Please put "In Memory of Arthur W. Ruder" in the memo line.
