Carol Ann Brodbeck, age 92, passed away surrounded by close family on February 24, 2026. Born December 13, 1933, Carol was a devoted and hardworking woman who made her home in Woodland, Michigan. After this introduction, she will be lovingly remembered as Carol.
Carol’s life was marked by steadfast dedication to both family and the work of building a home and livelihood alongside those she loved. With her husband, Paul, Carol farmed 170 acres, cared for 21,000 laying hens, and raised feeder pigs—all while raising their family together. Her commitment, strength, and tireless work ethic were evident in the life she helped create, sustain, and pass on.
When she wasn’t tending to chores, or helping with grandchildren, Carol could often be found with yarn in her hands, crocheting gifts stitched with love for those around her. Whether it was with a warm blanket, a thoughtful meal, or simply her time, she was always ready to help anyone who needed it. Her home and her heart were places of comfort, and her kindness touched countless lives.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jack Brodbeck; her son, Terry Brodbeck; her brother, Herbert Clark Jr. and great grandchild, Ellis.
Carol is survived by her children, Sharon Shaw, Cindy Morris, and Daryl Brodbeck. She is survived by her grandchildren: Spencer Shaw; Tyler (Kayla) and Lucas (Mackenzie) Shaw; Travis and Nick Brodbeck; Trevor Greenman and Justin (Monica) Shumaker; Jack (Anna) Morris; Alexis (Joe McGlothen) Morris; Cody (Whitney) Brodbeck and Felicia (Kyle) Thelen. Carol is again survived by her siblings, Sally Tiede, Sandra Coulier, Linda Mueller as well as her special friend and neighbors Tom & Marilyn Simmons who have graciously cared and watched over Grandma's sweet old kitty, Goldie!
She will be laid to rest next to husband Paul, in Woodland Memorial Park, Woodland MI. According to her wishes no services will be held.
