Dolores Irene Ost

Dolores Irene Ost, age 90, of Lake Odessa, Michigan was called home by her Lord and Savior Friday, February 7, 2025. Dolores was born on June 20th, 1934 in Ionia County, MI to Jesse and Margaret (McGrath) Elliott. On November 27th, 1954 she married Fred Ost and together they purchased her family farm, where they raised cattle and kids. In their retirement years Dolores and Fred enjoyed 14 years of snow birding in Avon Park, FL. She was an avid quilter and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family dinners at the farm was the highlight of her life, having a large family was the absolute pinnacle of joy to her.

Dolores will be forever cherished by her; children Charles (Mary Jane Vander Stow) Ost, Kenneth Ost, Tammie (Tim) Zook, Charlotte (Rick) France, Margaret (Steve) Sabo and Betty (Mike) Goodemoot, many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, siblings Richard Elliott, Joann Kidder, Helen Babcock and Sharon Karr, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her; parents, husband Fred Ost, infant daughter Martha, siblings George Elliott, Shirley Taggart, Bill Elliott, Bob Elliott and Joyce Jeffrey.

According to her wishes Cremation has taken place and Celebration of her life is being held on April 12th, 2025 at 11 a.m. Lake Odessa Grace Brethren Church, with visitation being held at 10 a.m. until time of service.

Donations in Dolores's name can be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
