

Dorothy Anne Hovey, a devoted and generous soul, passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 2, 1939, in Saginaw, Michigan, Dorothy was the daughter of John F and Dorothy Marko. She spent her formative years in St Charles, Michigan, where she attended high school.
Dorothy, affectionately known as Peggy, was an adventurous and loyal individual who embarked on her career as a ticket teller at a theater. Together with her husband, Chet, she owned and operated the "H&S" Arena, a horse arena, for 17 years. Peggy was responsible for maintaining the books and signing in the riders. Afterward, she worked as an accountant at the Saranac Grocery Store until her retirement. Never one to remain idle, Peggy later assisted Steve and Vicky in selling products at various trade shows.
On October 5, 1957, Peggy married Chester "Chet" Hovey. Together, they shared 47 joyful years of marriage, working and raising a family until Chet's passing in 2004. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Chet, and her brothers Jack ,William, Gerald Marko. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Vicky (Steve Curtis) Schultz, her son Tim (Ronda) Hovey, her grandchildren Shuri (Stuart) Griffin, Tiffany (Jeremy) Craig, and Natasha Hovey, her great-grandchildren Grace Griffin, Mya Griffin, Zoey Craig, Allyza Craig, Zepplin Craig, and her niece Laurie Peters, Cousins Cindy, Sara, Irene, Beatrice, Maryann, Joyce, Sharon, Shirley, Virginia, Diane, Tora, Mike, Chuck, Duane, Ron, Gary and Nick.
In her personal life, Peggy was an inspirational and creative individual. She found joy in working in her gardens, both flower and vegetable, and took pride in mowing her own lawn. Peggy also crafted many blankets and doilies for her family members. Her love for life was evident in her passion for playing cards, dancing, and singing with her family. Peggy lived life to the fullest, ensuring that her family always felt loved.
A memorial service will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel, located at 935 4th Ave, Lake Odessa, Michigan, on December 22, 2025, at 11:00 am. The family invites everyone to join them for food and fellowship at Lakewood Church immediately following the memorial services to help continue the celebration of Dorothy's life.
