

Douglas Lake, 67, of Lake Odessa, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 19, 2011. He was born May 13, 1944 in Sunfield Township, the son of George and Eleanor (Bishop) Lake. He graduated from Sunfield High School in 1962. Doug married Susan Bulling at Sunfield United Brethren Church on August 19, 1967. He was employed at Brown Brothers in Lansing, Hough Brothers in Sunfield and retired from ADM in Portland in 2004 after 28 years of service. He enjoyed many years of happy retirement adventures with his friends and family. Doug was preceded in death by his father, George Lake; parents-in-law, Keith and Bernice Bulling. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Susan Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Samantha Lake of Holt; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Hafke; grandsons, Dane and Ty of Holt, who will miss their grandpa very much. He also leaves behind his mother, Eleanor; brothers and sister, Rod (Marcia) Lake, Mark (Sue) Lake and Cheryl (Von) Phillips. Doug enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and was an avid sports fan, especially of the home town Tigers. The pride and joy of his life was his kids and grandchildren who he loved dearly. Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Saturday at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Funeral Services for Doug will be conducted at 2 pm on Sunday at the Clarksville Bible Church, 191 S. Main St., Clarksville. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
