Hazel Mae Herbert, age 84, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Corewell's Pennock Campus in Hastings, MI. Hazel was born on August 19, 1938 to Franklin and Ellen (Wilson) King in Sunfield,MI. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Hazel enjoyed walking, 4 miles a day on average for years. She loved to decorate for all the holidays, inside and out, many people would drive by just to see what she'd done. Besides her own children, she took care of many other children over the years in her home.
She will be dearly missed by; husband Kendal, children Mary (Roger) Geiger and Amy (David) Haskin, grandchildren Ben Geiger, Greg (Heather) Geiger, Alex (Katie) Geiger, Kerissa Geiger, Jason (Jordin) Haskin, Abigale Haskin, Anthony Haskin, Parker (Cassie) Haskin, Ellenora Haskin, Isabella Haskin and Mary Haskin, 5 great grandchildren, siblings Beverly Erb, Richard ( Shirley) King and Ray King, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 6pm until 8pm at Koops Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Kilpatrick U.B Church at 11am on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Hazel will be laid to rest in Lakeside Cemetery.
Donations in Hazel's name can be given to Kilpatrick UB Church to help with the Feed the Need program.
