Leo Carr

CARR—Leo Carr, aged 90, of Lake Odessa, was called Home early Thursday morning, January 29, 2009. Leo was born in Sebewa Twp., Michigan on October 14, 1918 to John and Mary Carr. He graduated from Sunfield High School in 1936, and was united in marriage to Margery Pranger in Portland, MI on November 18, 1941. Leo had farmed for several years before becoming a general contractor in the Lake Odessa area for over 50 years. He had been a long-time member of the Sebewa Center United Methodist Church. When he could find the time, Leo loved to go fishing. Leo is survived by his children, Delores "Sid" (Jim) Stank of Sunfield, Butch (Vicki) Carr of Hastings, and Dave (Jo) Carr of Hastings; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Delores Stedge of Kalamazoo; and many other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Margery Carr; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Richard Wolfe; son, Duane Carr; sisters, Clara Timmrick and Katherine Martini; and brothers, Gene, George, and Jack Carr. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Friday, January 30, 2008 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Thornapple Manor, or the Sebewa Center United Methodist Church.
