Ann Marie Powers

She was born to Joseph and Katherine Kolder in Ambridge, PA, January 23rd, 1930 where she grew up and graduated from Ambridge High School. Ann Marie enjoyed a career in the finance department for the Bayer Corporation.

Ann Marie married Henry S. Szafaryn, they had four children, and lived in Moon Township, PA. After his death in 1977, she continued her career at Bayer Corporation and met and married Eugene Powers. They retired and moved to Arizona, where she enjoyed her passion for golf and art. After years of fun in Arizona they moved to Florida to live near family.

She is survived by her children: Mark H. (Gretchen) Szafaryn, Lisa (Michael) Garcia, Joseph Brian (Barbara) Szafaryn, Paula (Gary) O’Korn, Deborah (Dick) Becker, and Christine (Charles) Osborne; grandchildren: Alexis Garcia, Kalyn (Jason) Runk, Joseph Szafaryn, Mark Blumling, Matthew Szafaryn, John O’Korn, Chad Osborne, Jonathan Osborne and Nicholas Osborne.

Ann Marie even got to meet and watch her only great grandchild Madelynn Szafaryn grow to 10 months of age.

Ann Marie is also survived by sisters: Vivian Johns and Dolores Zazwirsky. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kolder and sister, Katherine Kuhni.

Ann Marie touched many lives in her final home of the Carlisle of Palm Beach. As one of the staff said “Ann Marie changed our lives here.”
