The family moved to Lake Worth in 1957, and she began working as a secretary for the new manufacturer in Palm Beach County, Pratt & Whitney. While employed there, she met and married William H. She became an accredited judge for the American Orchid Society and began traveling across the continent to orchid shows as a judge, meeting and forming valuable friendships from Hawaii to South America. Her many activities included bowling, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, cross-stitching, and most recently, quilting.

Arlene is survived by her two biological children, Terrence (Mary) and Sandra (James) Bringley, and her beloved six stepchildren, Gerald (Audrey), Kathleen Tracy (Michael), William III, Sean (Barbara), Deborah Dibble (Sherman), Sheila DeRosa (Michael). She was a loving grandmother to 20, great grandmother to 40 and great great-grandmother to one, and many nieces and nephews. My mother was good friends with Arlene when she first came to Florida. They worked together at Pratt & Whitney. We were also from Pennsylvania and one Christmas she shared a ride with us to Pennsylvania. I always remember her as a very nice and fun lady. My deepest sympathies to your family. I’m sure she’ll be missed.
