

Born in Weslaco, Texas, Augustine was the son of Josefine Ruiz and was raised by Augustine Garcia and his grandfather Reyes Ruiz. He was a beloved brother to Maria Torres, Desiderio Montes, Linda Pagan, Margaret Garcia, and Francis Lopez.
Augustine's heart knew no bounds, as he was survived by his loving wife Maria Montes and his son Augustine Leopoldo Montes Jr. Augustine Jr. held a special place in his father's heart, who cherished him endlessly. Additionally, Augustine's generosity and love extended to countless nieces and nephews, including Jessie Lopez, whom he raised like a son and who affectionately called him dad.
In 1977, Augustine first laid eyes on Maria at the Greenacres Ballpark. With courage and respect, he sought her father's permission to court her, leading to their marriage on February 18, 1979, at The Little Wedding Chapel in West Palm Beach, FL.
Augustine was a master mechanic, dedicating over 25 years of his life to Boca West, where he showcased his exceptional talent in fixing everything from machines to cars. Outside of work, Augustine had a passion for hunting, eagerly anticipating November each year for his trips to Mississippi. He also possessed a love for dancing, effortlessly moving his feet to Mexican music and rock and roll.
His zest for life was infectious, as he filled every room with laughter and captivating stories. Augustine's old-school charm and warm personality made him a beloved figure in his community. He found joy in watching novellas, sharing gossip, and playing bingo with his sisters-in-law.
A spiritual man, Augustine was actively involved in his church, finding solace and companionship among fellow believers. His kindness, humor, and genuine nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Augustine Montes will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him. Though he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of life service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A graveside prayer service will occur Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
