Dolores was born on July 28th, 1936, in Philadelphia PA to Anthony (Angelina) Placente and grew up in Bristol, PA. and Burlington N.J. She was married to the love of her life, William Lee Galt, on March 20th, 1954. In 1972 the happy couple and their four children moved to Florida with to be near her mother and raised her family there. She did various jobs throughout her life all of which she always did well due to her incredible work ethic. What she did best was being a loving, caring, and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who always put her family first.
As a mother and grandmother, she was incredibly involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives as they were her greatest joy. Always volunteering to be the room mother, chaperone, Girl Scout leader or coach. She loved to volunteer and was always on the bleachers or wherever she needed to be to cheer them on.
Dolores excelled at all the things she did and was a highly creative person. In her younger days she loved to bowl. A huge sports enthusiast there wasn’t a sport she didn’t love to watch. She was amazingly talented at entertaining, cooking, sewing, knitting crocheting, needlepoint, cake decorating, and crafts of any kind. The most beautiful gift she has left for those she loved was one of her amazing quilts. She had a true zest for living and loved to dance. She was famously known for dancing on tables whether the staff of the event approved or not. Another love of hers was to travel and she was fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful places all over the world with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 34 years William Lee Galt Jr and her brother Louis Placente. She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Jack) Snavely, Denise (Chris) Tims, Dolores (Steven) Geise, and son William Lee (Nerissa) Galt III, her grandchildren Savannah Snavely, Sean (Tatiana) Tims, Ryan (Meriah) Tims , Megan (William) Phillips, Jason Geise, Joshua Geise , William Lee Galt IV, Jenna Galt, Alex Galt, Cade Galt, Brynn Galt, her sister Joan (William) Lampman, and brother Anthony Placente.
