Age 94 of Palm Springs, FL passed away August 24, 2011. He was born in Follansbee, West Virginia to Salvatore and Domenica Basil. He was a career veteran of the U.S. Navy, who retired after 21 years service. He was also with the U.S. Postal service for 12 years, a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, The Lions Club and the Elks Lodge of West Palm Beach. He volunteered at the V.A. Medical Center in Riviera Beach for 25 years.
Emil is survived by his loving wife of 70 years marriage, Mildred; sons, Ernest Basil (Peggy) of Okeechobee and David Basil of Loxahatchee; sisters, Rose Tallerico–Enea and Julie Veltri; grandchildren, Liza, Phillip, Tia, Matthew and Brian; four great grandchildren.
Friends may visit from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm on Friday, August 26 at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 27 at the St. Luke Catholic Church, 2892 So. Congress Ave., Palm Springs, FL 33461. Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
