Born on October 14, 1941 in Baden Baden, Germany and a naturalized USA citizen. She was the daughter of the late Barbra Barto from Hungary and Anton Kipper, a German Chemist from Romania. She spoke three languages - English, German, and Hungarian. She worked in various occupations over her lifetime, including restaurant hostess, various sales positions, and small business owner, as well as homemaker.
Erika was a leader in every sense of the word. Whether it was owning her own furniture small business or leading a women's Bible study, she consistently was available to meet the need.
Erika was also a very tenacious soul. She was tough, strong and a fighter - fighting for her life through many health crises through the last 18 years - each time relying on the Lord to bring her through. Earlier in life, her can-do attitude was also evident when raising her children. She would often get involved in school matters ensuring her children were treated fairly and she would find solutions for their betterment.
Erika was an outgoing and joyful person who loved to laugh and have fun. She had many friends and was often the "life of the party". She loved to cook and entertain others with her generous hospitality. Erika had her creative side as well - as her paintings and sculptures reflected.
Her greatest passion in life was to talk to people about her Lord Jesus Christ and to lead others to find the salvation and peace in Christ that she had found. She was also a prayer warrior and intercessor for her family and anyone that needed spiritual support.
Erika is survived by her three daughters; Rita Haupt and her husband John, Cristl Phillips and her husband Charles, and Nicole Dolan and her husband Christopher. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Derek Haupt and his wife Amanda, and Rachel Haupt, as well as Chase, Corinne, and Nora Dolan, and by her brother Adolph Kipper and sister Edith Kipper Dawson. Her husband, Richard Chalecki, predeceased her in 2001.
