I met Jill over 25 years ago when she was assigned to provide me with home health after my back surgery. We became friends, and often shared books,  a glass of wine, or dinner downtown. I always admired how she worked to put herself through nursing school. I don’t know how many lives she touched as a nurse, but she certainly touched mine. I’ll always remember her as a kind, enthusiastic, and curious person. The last few months were difficult for her due to ongoing medical concerns. I’m glad she is finally at peace. She will be missed. 

One of my greatest lessons and a pilar of my life is that of non-hypocrisy and truthfulness. 

So, with that said my mother may have not been the best but she was mine. For that I loved, cherished and would do all that is possible for her. 

It saddens and pains me that she is gone; probably more than I current realize. 

But I am lucky enough to pull those amazing memories (summer camp in Micanopy, first trip to Disney/Universal, Walloon, that Amish town in Indiana and many more) when the sadness and darkness sets in. 

I also find comfort to know she found her calling in life and not only touched but literally saved so many. 

Through it all she was my mother and she mattered!
