Dicks, John C., Jr. (J.C.) passed away in Atlantis on July 4, 2015 after a brief illness. Born in Good Samaritan hospital in 1926 to Eula Mae Macdonald Dicks and John Colvin Dicks, Sr., J.C. attended North Grade School, Lake Worth High School and graduated from Florida State University. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed a 38year career in the operations division of Rinker Materials Corp. and after retiring in 1989 served as a consultant until 2012. Mr. Dicks was a past president of the Stuart Kiwanis club, member of Atlantis Country Club and Atlantis Golf Club. He was dedicated family man enjoying his family, travel, golf and fishing. J.C. will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years Bobby, four sons Tom (Dorothy), Steve (Lynn), Mike (Vivian) and Allen (Missy) and forever remembered by his grandchildren Brian, Allison, Megan, Emily, A.J. and Sarah. He also leaves behind his two best fishing buddies of 65 years Vince Gunderson and James Waugh. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would enjoy visits, calls and cards. Anyone wishing to make a memorial donation in his name may do so to the charity of their choice, Salvation Army or Boy Scouts of America.
