The first time I met Josh I was such a young free spirit wondering why he was just as stubborn & spirited as I was... the second time life brought Josh back to me we were still spirited but older & we hoped wiser. The second time was the spiritual time. I found in him a leader, a friend, & a protector. We became fast close friends, family,  like we never missed a beat. Our lives intertwined with children, holidays, birthdays, & simple every days. We had long talks about life, the universe, God, spirituality & family. He made me feel as if I was perfect & any downfall in my life was simple. On my worst days he made me feel that I was important, always listening & lending an ear for my tears of life. He will be missed every day. I only hope we can all continue to give to the world the way he gave his heart... completely. So few can say they left this world a better place ... he did. I am always here for you Kristin, Emma, Layton, & your family. All my love.

What a difficult loss for your family! May you rest in  peace and shine down on them always! We were not close but saw each other at friend's gatherings and sometimes on a job site. I will send my many prayers to Kristin, Emma and Layton! Kristin, may you always know that even people who aren't always around are here for you!

"The sharp knife of a short life" keeps swirling around in my head with many, many sad, heavy thoughts as this week has passed. Saying goodbye to a friend is never easy & my heart literally breaks for so many others hearts & lives that Josh was a part of.
It will never be the same without him and his presence will be severely missed; from the kids birthday parties, family vacations, to just hanging out with all of our friends.
Josh was always 100% invested no matter what he was involved in, weather it be dressing up like Santa for his son's preschool, his passion for fishing & golf, to getting into full costume for Halloween or a benefit to help a friend. He had such a hearty boisterous laugh that was contagious and he had such a positive zest for life.
Josh was always there for me & for so many others with an encouraging word or outlook to cheer you up. He would literally do anything for anyone and seemed to make even the simplest of things extra special for so many.
He was the best storyteller and there was never a dull moment when he was around because he would always find and create a fun game to play or make a prank or joke just to make that time more enjoyable.
Josh was a great friend that will be dearly missed by all. He was a devoted husband and an amazing father to sweet Emma & precious Layton and my heart aches that their time with him was cut so short.
We will keep him & his memory alive in our hearts forever & we will do for him what he would do for all of us and that is be there for his family now and in the future.

It's been an honor to call Josh a friend. We will miss him dearly. He's the guy I always called to help me solve challenging problems. Even though we are all very sad and in shock, it's no surprise this tragedy occurred while he was helping others. RIP Josh.
