My Grandpa was truly one of a kind! He was a free spirit who spoke his mind, remained stern in his beliefs and loved his family immensely! 
With every conversation we had, Grandpa was always sure to ask about my husband Owain and our daughters Taylor and Lia. He was always interested in our careers and how the girls were doing in school, and I loved updating him on everything.
My Grandpa was the strongest man I know! We buried grandma on his 97th birthday, and after the service ended, he called me over to "tell me a secret". We both laughed so hard in that moment, and I was so grateful to him for bringing a smile to my face and laughter to my mouth, even on such a sad day for us. 
Grandpa would have been 98 years old this year, and was determined to see 100 years, but God had other plans.
I'm so grateful to my Grandpa for his love and constant laughter, his smile and youthful spirit, and the wonderful memories  that we shared. 
I am  comforted because I know that he and grandma are united again, and that makes my heart extremely happy! ❤



 As a child, I loved my brother Louis immensely.  I was special to him and he was special to me. When I left home for school in Kingston, I saw him often since he was working there.  He made sure that I always had spending money as he gave me pocket money each month.   We had lots of fun together. However, along with being kind, he was very strict. He always had to know who I planned to visit as I needed first to seek his permission. I remember him taking me to meet his "special" friend Pearle. I was touched to know that he thought he needed my approval before he could advance his relationship any further.  I fell in love with Pearle on that first visit, which led to many more.  I grew to know her family well, and they became my family too.

After being abroad for five years, upon returning home to Jamaica, I introduced Louis to my “friend” Dinsdale.  Louis asked of Dinsdale, “What is your intention?” Dinsdale’s prompt response was a single word, “Honorable!”.  We received his blessing and Dinsdale and Louis subsequently became very good friends, even brothers.

God gave Louis many years with his lovely family.  We always admired how close-knit they were. We will miss him greatly. May his dear soul rest in peace.  May light perpetual shine upon him.

Uncle Louis had a smile that would light up the room, a sense of humor that was engaging, laughter that was infectious, and a kindness and generosity that was appreciated especially by a young college student in New Jersey and far away from home…Mandeville, Jamaica. Uncle Louis and Aunt Pearle graciously invited me into their home and provided me a place to stay during the holidays while I was attending Rutgers University. I always enjoyed my visits as I felt loved, safe, protected, and this special time allowed me to bond closely with my cousins and their families. It was sheer fun and joy! I am so grateful for the wonderful memories, his great conversations especially those about our family history, and warm experiences that will remain with me always. Uncle Louis will be missed but he will forever live in our heart and thoughts. He is now with his precious Pearle and his happiness is complete. He is at peace. He is home. He was and will always be truly loved. 

I had the pleasure of calling Louis V. Linton grandpa for 40 years. From a young child to now, my grandpa was always the sweetest, engaging, thoughtful man. I have barrels of fond memories of us talking about everything from politics, my school work, my mood to my career. He was a curious spirit with a great memory that always made you feel seen and special. I will always love him and miss him dearly but am comforted by the fact that he is in eternal heavenly paradise with his queen, Grandma P.

My precious memories of Uncle Louis goes back to my childhood. The exitement of his visit began upon hearing that he was coming. He has always in my mind been the tall, huge uncle with the deep voice and smiling face who made fond memories. I visited him 2 years ago and was delightfully reminded that he has not changed. He remained as "sharp as a tac" in recalling beautiful memories of his siblings and their families. You are special. You will be missed. R.I.P. dear uncle.

As a child whose age was in single digits, Uncle Louis was the biggest man I knew. Looking up to him and knowing that he was a policeman, meant that I had to behave. He lived in Spanish Town in a home with windows that were right on the street. At least that is how it appeared to me as a little boy in short pants.
I shall always remember the kindness both he and his beloved wife Pearl, extended to my siblings, Dwight, Margaret, and me. On behalf of his late sister Nola and her children, thanks for everything you did for us and you will be missed.
