Carrie, Kassie and Glen..........and families. My heart hurts for you with Merlin's passing. My memories of Merlin always bring a smile to my face. I especially loved my time out at the farm. While we are far apart by miles we continue to send our love and prayers. Matt, Cody and Colin are also praying. Even the boys have such fun memories at the farm and all that Merlin shared with them. Merlin was bigger than life to them with his awesome stories and memorabilia. Such a blessing to know he is with Jesus and how much his love was for Christ. We love all of you and pray for your comfort. Matt, Stephanie, Cody and Colin Bates

I was a student at Olympia High School in the early 90’s and Mr. Kiesewetter was our Dean of Students. I will always remember how nervous I was when he sat next to me one day at lunch. I wasn’t one to get in trouble, but I thought I must have done something wrong. Turns out he just wanted to know how my day was going. Mr. Kiesewetter had a reputation of being very tough but also very fair. It is safe to say that all of us students respected him very much! Now as a current teacher at Olympia, we still talk very fondly of Mr. Kiesewetter and the good ‘ole days. I’m very sorry for your loss. Your family will be in our prayers. Mr. Kiesewetter was one of the best!

Was so surprised to hear of Merlins passing . It is so hard to lose somebody we love just when we are starting our golden years I cannot believe that it’s been 10 years since Tuny passed. We all had so much fun in high school and it’s hard to Believe that we are the older generation now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all , especially you Carrie. It is hard and doesn’t seem fair but it will get better but never the same Phyl

Prayers to Carrie and her family. Hearing of Merlin's passing was a shock and a difficult thing to accept. Merlin was a very talented, caring, kind soul. My mom went to school with him in Washburn. I first knew him as a student at CJHS. I later worked as a school secretary at CJHS across the hall from Carrie. Merlin would crack me up! I was never sure what would come out of his mouth, but he was so admired and loved. We will miss you Merlin Kiesewetter... God bless you, Carrie and your beautiful family. 😥😥😥

A loss we all have trouble accepting. Merlin was a classmate in Washburn and a friend to me and my children here in East Peoria. I pass his house all the time and smile as I think of him. Now it will be with sadness cause he’s not there. Very proud to have known you big guy and to acknowledge your awesome accomplishments.
