

Robert I. Davidsson, age 67, of West Palm Beach, a resident of Palm Beach County since 1961, died November 9, 2021. He was a graduate of the Lake Worth High School Class of 1972, the University of Florida’s College of Journalism, and Florida State University’s School of Information Studies. Mr. Davidsson managed the Palm Beach County Library System’s Government Research Service (GRS) section for 25 years, and was a former reporter and/or news editor for the Suwanee Democrat, Florida Keys Keynoter, Palm Beach Evening Times, Boca Raton News and Palm Beach Post. He is author of the book “Indian River: A History of the Ais Indians in Spanish Florida,” and many professional studies articles in the fields of South Florida history and information studies.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Johnson of West Palm Beach; two sisters, Sandra Green of South Palm Beach and Bonnie (Chip) Purvere of Wellington; a nephew, Tyler (Linda) Green of Richmond, VA; a niece Laurel (Andy) Scholl of Bettendorf, Iowa; four great-nieces, Anna Scholl, Kate Scholl, Amelia Green and Piper Green; and two great-nephews, Zachary Scholl and Harrison Green. A family remembrance will be held with cremation arrangements made by Dorsey - E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Davidsson requested that any donations be given to the Florida State University School of Library and Information Studies Scholarship Fund in his name. Condolences to the family may be sent care of the Dorsey - E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
