Dear Edith, Danielle, Johnny, Joshua, Meaghan, Jonathan and Julian, 
My heart goes out to you during this very difficult time.  It is never is easy to lose a loved one but when you have seen them suffer you know it is time for them to move on.  You have so many great memories to cherish and the girls and I can say that we have some too. From our vacations in Florida with you, there was sharing meals with Roger at Danielle's house, hanging by the pool while Roger and Johnny tinkered with some project, or all of us just being silly together, and creating a new kind of family to love and share special memories with.  Roger was a very special person who will truly be missed but because of the special memories he created and he will never be forgotten by those he touched and that includes my crazy little family too. I remember when Tom O. hit the maintenance shed with the Capts. on his return from the morning half-day trip.  When he came back from the PM trip, there was a big orange-tape BULLSEYE on the side of the shed.

Roger had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him.

I have known Roger since as long as I can remmember. He always was quite a character. When I was younger he told me blimps stayed afloat by farts.  I thought that was the funniest thing a grown up could tell me. But dont mistake his humor, this guy was like McGuiver,a man of various trades.  He even hemmed up my pants for me in high school. He even wore a tie for my graduation and told me stuff about war ww2 that I never would of known. I'll miss watching sci-fi movies with you. I love you and will always miss you and I'm glad your in a better place now.  Love your grandson,

I have been blessed to have a stepfather like Roger!  He was tough as nails on the outside, soft & mushy like marshmallows on the inside & as stubborn as a mule.  He was there for me whenever I needed (my first car accident, moving all of my crap back & forth to college, my wedding, making curtains for my classroom, fixing my dresser...you name it).  He made us all laugh out loud with his antics & teachings especially to his grandsons.  He will forever be in my heart. I am glad that he is finally without pain & can enjoy as much ice cream as he wishes.
