She was born in Miami, FL and is the daughter of Dolora Joan Wetherington and the late Ronald Lee Wetherington.
Survived by her husband Ronald W. Shearouse and son Justin Lee Shearouse, stepson's Derek Brice Shearouse and Ronald C. Shearouse, grandchildren Sivan, Maya, Loren, Derek II Shearouse, sister Leslie Kalinowski and the late Lisa Wetherington, niece Jenna, nephew's, Jake and Aaron Kalinowski.
Sue was raised in Hollywood, (Pembroke Pines) Florida and graduated from McArthur High School in 1977. She also attended Broward College earning an Associates Degree in Business. She and Ronald W. Shearouse were married 09/12/1981 and remained devoted for 43 years. They retired, in 2022 after 40 years of running a successful State Farm Insurance Agency In Lantana, FL.
Sue enjoy being a member of her high school high stepper drill team. In college she joined the Beta Epsilon Phi where she was a pledge master.
Sue was an avid animal activist and volunteer. She passionately devoted her life in the pursuit of educating the community and the betterment of animal lives by promoting the spay and neutering of all animals. Her volunteering included organizations such as Stray No More, Bush Wildlife, Bambi Bird Sanctuary, Cathy's Cats, Wildlife Care Center and All About the Cats, Heavens Gate Sanctuary, Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Palm Beach Animal Care and Control. Sue was a board member of the Folke Peterson Foundation who's donation helps millions of animal welfare programs.
A funeral service for Sue will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Following the funeral service a committal will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
