Terry John Wilson was born on December 10, 1959, in West Palm Beach, Florida. At the age of 13, he experienced the loss of his biological mother and, as an only child, was lovingly raised by his grandparents. Despite early hardships, Terry had a joyful childhood and embraced life with energy and optimism.
As a young man, Terry developed a love for swimming and fishing. He was a strong swimmer during his high school years and carried that passion throughout his life. After graduating, he pursued careers in both construction and cooking, mastering trades that reflected his hands-on skills and creativity.
Terry was known for his great sense of humor and his undeniable charm. He often said he was blessed with both, when God created him he broke the mold, and many who knew him would agree. He loved being around a positive circle of people and maintained a humble spirit. With his radiant smile and warm presence, he had a way of making others feel seen, heard, and appreciated.
To know Terry was to know a man of affection, love, and loyalty. He was a devoted husband, son, brother, and friend. He was fondly known as "T," "Uncle Terry," "Pops," "Dad," and "Granddaddy." Above all, he was a man of faith. He cherished his church family and formed a special bond with his pastor, Pastor Kyle, whom he deeply respected and admired. Terry often reminded others to pray for their pastor, recognizing the weighty responsibility of reaching lost souls. One of his proudest moments was being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ by Pastor Kyle—an experience he treasured deeply.
Terry firmly believed that life was a divine gift, and despite its trials and challenges, he held fast to the truth that God had a plan and purpose for everyone. His faith was unwavering. He often said, "Eternal life with God is worth fighting for. Don’t murmur, don’t quit, don’t give up the fight. If God gives us breath, don’t stop serving the Lord."
Terry John Wilson is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Wilson. He leaves behind his children: Tashawnda Wilson, Tavarious Wilson, Terry Jr. Wilson, Keiondra Kingdom, Kapree Kingdom, and Norman Christmas. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many others who loved him dearly.
Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of faith, love, and laughter. Terry’s legacy will continue to live on in all who knew him.
