Wayne was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 19, 1954 to the late Frank and Margaret (Conners) Kochis. Wayne graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in 1971. He worked multiple jobs at St. Francis Hospital for over 27 years. He started in the housekeeping Dept., moved onto Orderly Patient Care Technician. While there he assisted the pathologist Dept. by being the Autopsy Assistant. He also worked with the Albany Eye Bank. Wayne self-taught himself about the medical field and his love of forensics with almost 40 years’ experience. He worked with several notable pathologists including Dr. Michael Baden and was mentioned in Dr. Baden’s book “dead Reckoning”.
Wayne moved to West Palm Beach in 2002. He was hired by the Palm Beach medical examiner’s office as a forensic technician. After leaving the Medical Examiner’s Office he went to work with the Allied Barton and Miami Management company. He retired in 2016.
Wayne is survived by his children Aaron Kochis, Jessica Kochis both of Poughkeepsie, NY, Megan Kochis of Georgia, Emily Kochis and Jayna Kochis both of Palm Beach Florida, one sister Wendy Marvella of Spring Hill, Fl., 3 grandchildren Morales, Kylee Epstein and Kayla Kochis; niece Mellissa Buchan of Spring Hill; nephews Jason Kochis of Georgia, Justin Kochis of Spring Hill and Eric Marvella of Ocala, Fl.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, son Christopher Kochis, brother Jeffrey Kochis, and a nephew Paul Marvella.
A private memorial Service will be held in New York.
