William L. Faircloth

William L. (Bill) Faircloth, Sr., 100, of Lorida, FL peacefully entered into eternal life on January 6, 2016. Born November 17, 1915 in Autryville, NC, Bill was the oldest of eight children born to Alexander and Hulda Rebecca (Melvin) Faircloth. Having spent his childhood in North Carolina, his family later moved to Claymont, DE. He raised his own family in South River, NJ before relocating to Aiken, SC where he worked for the E.I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Plant as a power and waste water engineer before retiring in 1972 and later moving to Moore Haven, FL. Bill was a member of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI) Airstream Club for over 40 years and traveled over 500,000 miles, criss crossing the U.S. numerous times, as well as driving to eastern Canada and Alaska several times. A man of great faith, Bill was always reading his bible and was known for passing out “The Cross in my Pocket”. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Melissa (McKeon) and his wife of nearly 17 years, Becky (Keeley) along with sons William (Bill,Jr) and Thomas (and wife Carol), and granddaughter Lisa Faircloth Ingram. Those left to remember him and live "one day at a time” include his devoted daughter Mary (Robert) Schuettler of Lorida, FL; son Robert (aka Eddie) of New Jersey; daughter-in-law Lynn of South Carolina; sister Ethelene (Robert) Krauss of Delaware; grandchildren Susan (Chris) Avilla, Janet Morgan, Brian (Amy) Schuettler, Judy (Rodney) McClure, Melissia (Greg) Stark, Oletia (aka Cathy) Faircloth, Sheila Faircloth; 15 (and 2 step) great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, stepsons Dan Jr (Carolyn) and Mike Sr (Leslie) Keeley and their families, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Dorsey-E.Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Spring Lake United Methodist Church, 8170 Cozumel Lane, Sebring, FL 33876 or the charity of your choice.
