

Marvin was born March 29, 1930 at Broadwater, Nebraska to Albert and Gladys (Jackson) Bentley. He farmed with his father in the Broadwater area for a few years. On a trip to Grand Junction, Colorado to pick peaches Marvin married Reatha Friend at the courthouse in Grand Junction with Joe and Addie Berry as witnesses to this union.
The couple returned to the area and began farming and ranching throughout Morrill County. Marvin also worked as a mechanic for Bridgeport Equipment for many years. He most recently worked for the City of Bridgeport Parks Department until retiring due to ill health.
Marvin enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was especially fond of the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Marvin is survived by his wife Reatha of Bridgeport; children and their spouses: Ron and Evelyn Bentley and Dale and Tracy Bentley all of Bayard, Jody and Frank Strong of Gering, Terry and Pam Bentley of Lincoln, and Penny and Cary Hoxworth of Bridgeport; 13 grandchildren Cassie (Russ) Cowles, Amber Gardner, Lane Bentley, Leander Hopkins, Breanne Hopkins, Devin (Dan) Wiekhorst, Samantha Schneider and boyfriend Sam Wheeler, Chad (Christina) Bentley, Kendra (Dustin) Ingersoll, Alecia (Cain) Nungesser, DJ Hoxworth, Matthew Hoxworth and fiancée Molly Streff, and Joshua Hoxworth and girlfriend Brittany Hutson; 13 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Harper, Dakota, Ronald, Bella, Melanie, Jonah, Kylee, Danica, Zadyn, Logan, Madison, and Bryson plus another great-grandchild due in February of 2015; brothers and sisters-in-law John and Leona Bentley of Bridgeport and Dean and Arlene Bentley of Colorado; brother Gene Bentley of Colorado; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Junior, Myrl, Ned, Darrell, and Ronald; and sisters Wilma Waggerby, Ruby Watson, Dorothy Watson, Hilda Widener, and Addie Berry.
