

Raised on a farm outside Tabor, South Dakota, Fred served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska. He retired from Mountain Bell in 1991 after 37 years of service and enjoyed a long and active retirement with his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary. He loved his family, laughter, dancing, traveling, and sports of all kinds, holding a treasured pair of Denver Broncos season tickets since 1961. Fred was a deeply committed and involved member of his church, St Joan of Arc, Arvada. He relished his time with the Knights of Columbus, Arvada Elks, and American Legion.
Fred is survived by his wife Mary and their six children: Michele Windler (Larry) Wichita, KS; Fred II (Olga) Houston TX; Kevin (Debra) Littleton, Christine (Phil Clark) Portland OR; Steve (Kathy) Arvada; and Faith White (Tim) Arvada. He is survived by his sister, Norma Novotny of Arvada. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and siblings Regina and Robert.
Fred adored his grandchildren and took a keen interest in their lives and accomplishments, attending as many sporting events and dance recitals as possible. His grandchildren are Lindsay Windler-Snyder and Amanda Windler; Gabriel and Steven Michael Novotny; Elizabeth Walden and Paul Novotny; Andy and Charlie Clark; Tyler and Scott Novotny; and two great-grandchildren Alexander and Isla.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 6 at 10:30 a.m. at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, in Arvada.
