George "G.T." Norris was born on June 17, 1937 in Berea, Ohio. He attended St. Angela School and Fairview High School. G.T. joined the Navy in 1954 at age 17 and served until 1958. He lived in Idaho, Washington, Ohio, Colorado, and Arizona. G.T. and Helen were married in 1973 at Lake Tahoe. G.T. was an avid hunter and fisherman and guided hunters for many years. He truly loved God's wildlife and nature. G.T. learned to shoot at age 12 at the American Legion in Parkview, Ohio and went on to become a National Rifle Association instructor and sharpshooter. He was on an Arvada bowling league for nearly 15 years, and was a real Yahtzee chapion. He was a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Reserve for over 10 years. In 1987 he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a severe motorcycle accident. G.T. retired from United Airlines after 32 years as a Customer Service Representative in 1999. He always had a quick smile and kind words for everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Sylvia Norris and Kathy Vincent; son, Canyon; stepdaughter, Lisa Sacker; stepson, Bradley; on sister, Rita Smith and two brothers, Jim and Hank Norris. He was preceded in death by his mom, Florence Sulzman.
