Col. Harry B. Casterlin Jr. was born on April 4th, 1929 in Port Jervis, NY to Harry Casterlin Sr. and Mildred Casterlin (nee Holly). He joined the United States Air Force in 1950, serving as a T39 and B57 pilot, stationed at numerous Air Bases, including Yokota AB in Japan and Spangdahlem AB in Germany. His 30-year military career is highlighted by his service as Base Commander at 4683 Air Base GP in Thule, Greenland from 1973 –1974. Col. Casterlin was the recipient of numerous awards of merit, including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and AF Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife Jean, his son Randy and daughter-in-law Nancy, and his daughter Kim.
