

James “Jake” Albert Jacobs, 85, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away with his family by his side at home on Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was born in Paradise, Kansas, on August 8, 1932, to Albert and Hilaria (Dreiling) Jacobs.
Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Advantage Runyan Stevenson Trevino Chapel, 6425 W. Alameda Ave., Lakewood, CO.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Parish, 7240 W. 12th Ave., Lakewood, CO. Burial will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO.
Jim attended various country schools in Russell County, graduating from Paradise High School. He attended Fort Hays Kansas State College for a short time prior to joining the Air Force in 1952. He was stationed in Hawaii, where he met his future bride. Jim was married to Carol Kruger on May 16, 1956. He was a faithful member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Parish for over 55 years.
Jim worked in the construction field for 40 years. His last job being one he enjoyed most, as an FHA Inspector. Jim had a passion for helping his family and friends, growing tomatoes and cucumbers, and cooking soup.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Kruger; four children, Wesley Jacobs (Ginger) of Larkspur, CO, Rhonda Jacobs Holsinger (Curt) of Mead, CO, Robert Jacobs (Tari) of Plano, TX, and Gregory Jacobs (Kris) of Lakewood, CO; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Donny Jacobs of Gorham, KS, and Rita Peaden, of Wichita, KS; and two grandchildren.
