Born February 24, 1932 in New York New York, Lou was the youngest of two children to Roseanna and Peter Macca. Lou spent much of his childhood in Forrest Hills, Long Island New York. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force where he served with the 354th Aircraft Squadron in electrical and electronics maintenance. There he achieved a National Defense Medal and a Good Conduct Service Award before being honorably discharged in November 1958.
Lou next enjoyed a lengthy career with Hughes Aircraft working in the Aerospace division and the development of solar power technologies for satellites. This career took him to Wisconsin, California, and eventually landed him at Buckley Airforce base in Denver, Colorado. Upon retiring from Hughes, Lou capped off his career by consulting for Lockheed Martin before fully retiring in Lone Tree Colorado.
Lou married Lillian Cappadonna and together they had four children. Later on, Lou married the love of his life Christy Anderson. Together they went on grand adventures traveling the world together. Lou sailed the Caribbean countless times, dived all around the world, and visited many of the world’s magnificent wonders. 92 years of life provided him endless stories and laughs heard around the world.
Lou also had a passion for the Colorado Rockies and baseball. He embarked on a new journey with the Rockies that would last 20 plus years, a time he cherished. After finally fully retiring, Lou and Christy went on to spend many years enjoying the Sun Lakes area in Arizona. There they would make many more friends and lasting memories. Through all of Lou’s life he was a great friend to everyone he met and always knew how to make an acquaintance laugh and smile.
Lou is preceded by his parents Roseanna and Peter, his brother John, his wife Christy and stepdaughter Holly.
Lou is survived by his children Leslie, Lori, Peter (Rhonda), and Lydia (Damon), stepson Ron (Kathy), 9 grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
