

Lyle E. Hebb, born on the family farm in Buffalo County, Nebraska May 31, 1925 and passed away January 18, 2015. He grew up in Halsey and Blaine County, NE, and he went to schools at Halsey, Lead, SD and graduated in Wallace, ID. Served in the U.S. Navy aboard the battleship, USS Tennessee, during WWII. Upon honorable discharge in 1946, he attended college one year and finished his education by correspondence. He worked as a highway engineer for the Nebraska Department of Roads and Irrigation 1947 to 1959, licensed as a civil engineer 1955 in Nebraska. Worked as a civil engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 1959 to 1972, employed by the Office of Civil Defense in 1972, and after several reorganizations, retired from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in 1985. Married Alice L. Schroder March 20, 1948 and to this union 2 sons and a daughter were born. Lyle is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years; son Shannon (Judy) of Dallas, TX; son Clayton (Heather) Hebb of Littleton, CO; daughter Viann (Richard) Payne of Denver, CO; one sister, Marlea (Ted) Keys of Elsmere, NE; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He dearly loved his wife and his church. He will be missed and never forgotten by those who knew him as they, too, enter heaven. Visitation, will be from 1-5 p.m., Friday, January 23 at Advantage Runyan-Stevenson Chapel, 6425 W. Alameda Ave., in Lakewood. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 24 at Phillips United Methodist Church at 1450 S. Pierce St. in Lakewood. Graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 27 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
