Manuel Steve Marquez, 78, passed away at his home Sept 1, 2012. Manuel was born on Sept 23, 1933 in Segundo, CO. He graduated from Primero High School in 1952, and proudly served in the US Air Force. He retired from the Denver Parks Department in 1993. Manuel enjoyed gardening, working on home projects, the Denver Broncos and socializing with his friends. He welcomed hard work, had a lot of integrity and a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents Epifanio and Josefa Marquez; his wife, Rosemary; two brothers, Tony and Gene of Trinidad; and a daughter, Lori. He is survived by two sisters, Cornelia Vigil and Chris Cordova both of Denver; and two sons, Anthony of Grand Junction and Steve of Denver; and four grandchildren, Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and good friends. Rosary services will be held on Sunday at 4:30 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3801 W. Ohio in Denver. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 10th, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua. Graveside service will be at Fort Logan at 12:00 pm in Shelter A. Reception to follow at St. Anthony’s of Padua.
