

Simonita Gonzales was born on January 22, 1924 in Vadito, New Mexico. She passed away on June 5, 2016 in Fort Lupton, Colorado. She was ninety two (92) years old. Simonita lived a very rewarding long life. Simonita’s occupation had to be “mother” as she was always raising a family, whether it was hers or someone else’s. She started at age 12 and never really stopped until her passing, leaving a mark in each and every one of the persons who knew her (young and old alike). She was always willing to open her home to those who needed a place to stay. She had a big heart , she always had time to listen and share her wisdom, her ability to provide guidance was unique and always included God our Father and her positive influence which will remain in the lives of all that knew her. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the roses that she loved so well. She always had stories to share from past experiences and maybe some from fiction (but who knows). Simonita loved to cok and try different recipes and her delicious pies were like a piece of heaven melting into ones taste buds. Simonita was very well loved and caring towards others and was the glue of the whole family. She leaves behind six children, Emily (Peter) Wriedt (2 children) , Timothy (Rhonda Rodriquez)Gonzales (2), John (Barbara) Gonzales (3), Perry (Danette) Gonzales (1), Shelley (Alvin) Chamberlain (2), and Louise Valdez (3), 15 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Her father Abel Romero was married twice. He had 52 grandchildren. The first family was Fidel ( 4 children), Amadita (8), Evangelina (6), Maclovia (4). The second family was Felix (6 children), Joseph (4), Lela (5), Dorothy (5) and Abel Jr. (5)
Preceded in death by Parents Abel and Bernadita Romero, Husband Timothy Gonzales, Daughters Bernadette Garcia and Marcela (Richard) Jarnot, May Gonzales and Son Brian Gonzales, Brothers Felix, Joseph and Abel Jr., Sisters Dorothy and Lela.
