Bernadette Romanchik

Bernadette was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 8, 1945, and grew up in Teaneck, NJ. She graduated from Teaneck High School in 1963. She met her husband, Robert Romanchik and got married in 1973. Throughout the years, she worked at a number of places including the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York while living in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ before moving to Lakewood in 1983.

While living in Lakewood, she held a few jobs over the years as waitress, realtor, legal secretary, and finally in the customer service departments for Walmart and Shoprite. She was an active member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Roman Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister as well as a member of Catholic Daughter Court 310. She also was an active member of the Scouting community as her son, Edward, worked his way to Eagle Scout.

Bernadette was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 1998. She will be remembered forever by her son, Edward Romanchik, and his wife Kerri, as well as her grandson, Robert V. Romanchik. As well as the many people whose lives she touched with love, compassion, understanding, and guidance.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10th,2026 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday April 10th at12:00pm, at St. Mary of the Lake Church; 43 Madison Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701.

Interment will follow at Saint Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Honey Locust Dr, Toms River, NJ 0870.
